toshiba portege m400 tablet get I apparently have a Trojan virus on my laptop. When I turn it on, it goes into Startup Repair, and when it finishes, it says that it was unable to to repair automatically. Due to it going onto startup repair right away, I’m unable to get onto the Internet. I don’t really have an anti virus thing on my laptop, I just have Microsoft Security Essentials, but a friend said that it should have stopped the virus anyway. I could really use alot of help.

do a free online scan to check:

(this scan removes what it finds for free)

and then use ESET Internet Security Manager for your laptop.

Hope it helps.

Good Luck. :)

You problem may not necessarily be caused by a Trojan.. Honestly, I can not diagnose your problem fully because the description of the issue is vague. However, if we assume your problem is caused by some kind of malicious software AND you can not get the computer Online–the approach has to be with a Bootable or Flashdrive loaded tool.

I do not think you are experienced with malware removal so I am going to suggest you use a very simple tool. Since you can not go Online with the affected computer. Download the tool found in the link below to a flashdrive and run it.

The First Link will show you how to use it…The Second is a link to the download location.

Usually I would suggest Malwarebytes which is another Anti Malware( Spyware Program) but I suspect {if the problem is caused by some form of malicious software ) you have more than the usual Trojan( spywared) but possibly a full on Virus Infection.

If Stinger gets you up and running again. Use the Eset Online Scanner the previous answerer suggested as a follow up to Stinger. —> http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner And it would not be a bad idea to download and install Malwarebytes to have ready “Just In Case”… —-> http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

Good Luck.
