Since you said that you need to get the info off the drive from the Compaq… I’ll have to say that No, you can’t just take the hard drive from the Compaq and stick it into the eMachines, and expect the eMachines to boot up like the Compaq did. There are multiple reasons why this won’t work, not the least important is that you said nothing about the model laptops you are talking about. For all we know, the Compaq had an IDE style hard drive, and the eMachines uses a SATA style hard drive. If that were the case, the connections wouldn’t be the same.

What you *CAN* do is go to Best Buy. It’s sad that you need this right away, and that you can’t wait a few days… because needing this right away is going to be the difference between shelling out $ 50 and $ 10. At any rate, you go to Best Buy, and you get a 2.5″ hard drive enclosure. It is a little plastic and metal box made for laptop drives, and when you follow the instructions, you end up with a hard drive you can connect to your computer by USB. THEN you can just plug the Compaq drive in it’s new caddy into the eMachines, and access that information you need.

Assuming its not that right click the screen and a list of options should appear, full screen should be one of them. just buy it, at that price its expendable. the specs are good, the screen size is good, and the processor is not that bad. spend an extra 20 dollars on amazon and add another 2gb or ram to make it a little faster. I expect these to sell out very quickly, especially since each store is only guaranteed to have three.

Acer AS5253-BZ602 is a Great laptop, battery life is about 5 hours for normal use. Easy to type on and the number pad is a big plus. The AMD E350 apu is still good for some gaming I can play left 4 dead 2 and fallout new vegas with no lag. Defiantly not a high end laptop but for only 400 its a great deal, however I do recommend getting another 2gig stick of ram as it runs a lot better on 4gig.

There are so many more resources out there and often times you can find scholarships that other students did not find. Go to your library and check out scholarship listing books, making sure to get the latest versions. There you will find scholarships that are categorized by your interests, major, race, club affiliations, etc…

The best thing to do to find fresh scholarships past the major sites online, is to look for local resources (because those are the scholarships that no one online does a great job at getting into their database). This is where your library might help (but just avoid the national scholarship books from the big publishers). You need to find the scholarships that are unique to your community.

Your financial aid office is also a surprisingly good source for the local stuff. And there are some local scholarship websites. These are usually put together by the state education board or another similar state or local group–if your community or state has one–these are often great resources and will have different scholarships than zinch.com and fastweb.

If anyone else tells your differently, they are just trying to drive traffic to their website. Just ask them where they get their scholarships from.
