Was thinking audio-only, but am interested in the newer video systems as well.
I have tried a few, and I have found that Fisher Price monitors are the best. Both in terms of sound quality and longevity. I don’t have the latest version but baby bargins book always gives good advice on purchases.
We bought a great one off ebay – just search there.
hey there, just thought id answer your question. i cant give you any info on the picture monitors, i know that babies r us has one if there is one in your area. but i thought that monitors only worked well if they were expensive, but i was wrong! my boyfriend is a cheapo and he bought a saftey first monitor, for like 10 bucks at wal mart, and it works great! so if your looking for cheap and quality id go with them. hope i was helpful!

I am in bad need of a video/audio baby monitor. I have a 1month old and a 20month old. I obviously cant leave them alone together even for a second so Im constantly running from room to room at times.
I need any good recommendations or warnings of which one to buy.
I am willing to spend more for the best one so price is no issue.
I havent looked around much yet and want to get one this weekend.
I have Graco and it suites my needs. Don’t get a cheap one because the sound and clarity are fuzzy. Go more towards the higher end brands. If you try one for a week and decide that it does not suit your needs, simply return or exchange it for a replacement.
Also how would a second play pen in a different room or baby gate work out for you? That may be able to separate them for the times when you need it.
